Marketing position – Cape Town

Business Development Representative incorporating marketing, product development and brand communication in the Cosmetic and personal care industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing and new client relationships. He/She will work with the research team to ensure that the quality, profitability, and timeous delivery of projects are met. He/she will be responsible for providing input on project design, packaging sourcing and fragrance as well as other aspects of new projects. He/she will be responsible for social media and other marketing aspects of brands.

The duties of the position include:

Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity.

Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers

Assist in the development and project management of new products, eg: sourcing packaging, fragrance selection, design input, provisional costings, arranging samples, supplier liaison, mocking up samples, products listings

Closely liaising with and project managing customers, marketing, R&D and production teams about campaigns

Providing pricing to marketing and product development manger.

Providing current and new clients with different product solutions and services while simultaneously seeking out new ideas, products and capturing new markets

Developing client relationships.

Assisting with Price negotiations.

Presenting new products and ideas to clients

Promotion of company products and image.

Growing customer base year on year in terms of volume, revenue and margins.

Assist with Forecasting.

Running social media campaigns.

Working along side the PRO company to enhance sales and brand awareness.

Looking for new cost effective marketing opportunities.

Copy writing for advertorials, leaflets, posters and other marketing material.

Increasing company sales.

Make contributions regarding strategic planning

Qualifications / Experience:

Matric.

Tertiary education essential.

Minimum of 2 years sales experience within the Personal Care or homecare industries.

Good understanding of social media marketing.

Competencies:

Communication skills.

Team player.

Planning, negotiation and organizational skills.

Customer services orientated.

Computer literate – excel a must

Good presentation skills and good writing ability

Attention to detail

Ability to function under pressure

Industry or market knowledge within the Personal Care market

Excellent selling and negotiation skills
