Rain Africa creates luxury handmade bath and body products using natural ingredients with African botanical actives. Its products are responsibly handmade with love and care for its customers, craftspeople and the environment.
The proudly South African brand has diversified into the premium skin care and male grooming categories with a new natural skin care range and products developed specifically for me. Both the Rain Skincare and Rain’s G-Range have been entered in the 2019 P&C Review/Symrise New Product Competition.
Multi-ethnic natural skin care
Rain skincare debut in April 2019 with a new collection of natural products that harness the power of wild harvested African botanicals integrated with probiotics. Their objective is to maintain skin health.
These products were launched in South Africa, Ireland and the USA. The range includes natural cleansers, toners, serums and creams suitable for every step of a daily skin care routine. This range is naturally fragranced with essential oils and has been specially formulated to be gentle and to maintain and support the natural skin structure.
After three years of research and innovation, Rain Skincare was handcrafted in Swellendam, South Africa. The formulations adhere to the principles of the World Fair Trade Organization and Rain’s ethos of not using synthetic chemicals or animal products.
‘With the wild harvested African plant extracts and oils integrated with probiotics, our skin care range offers consumers a natural alternative to achieve glowing, healthy and balanced skin,’ says Dr Sansha Coetzee, head of innovation at Rain.
G-Range for men
Rain Africa entered the realm of male grooming in June 2018. Bev Missing, Rain’s founder comments: ‘Our customers spoke and we listened by developing a range specifically for men. The G-Range is true to our ethos of using wild harvested ingredients and African botanicals. This range offers consumers a natural alternative to mainstream body products for men.’
The range includes:
- sensitive skin shaving milk formulated with jojoba and marula oil
- aftershave gel with skin-soothing aloe ferox
- aftershave spritz containing aloe, chamomile and ginger
- beard oil to nourishes and protects facial hair and moisturises the skin
- deeply hydrating body butter
- light but moisturising hand and body lotion
- rapidly absorbing face cream
- olive oil soap on a rope
- nourishing hair and body wash
- fragrant shower gel
- shaving cream and potted olive oil shaving soap
- enticing eau de toilette with a woody aromatic scent.
The packaging of the G-Range was designed to reflect its natural origins and resonates with men. It embodies a classic design with an emphasis on masculinity and sophistication, finished off strong typographical use of the letter ‘G’ as its icon.
