Beautyworld Middle East 2018, which took place from 15 to 17 April, marked the Marchesini Group’s debut at the expo.
The group maximised its presence by demonstrating how the packaging process for cosmetics and personal care products has become an important part of its business.
Today, the Marchesini Group caters for the entire packaging process of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, from start to finish.
Represented in South Africa by MGSA Consulting, the group creates stand-alone machines and complete lines to package products such as vials, syringes, capsules, bottles and blisters through to bundling, casing and palletising equipment.
Beautyworld Middle East has played a vital role in the growth of the cosmetics industry in the region, with a solid representation of global products and brands.
The beauty industry is booming in the UAE, which is now the fastest growing market for beauty products globally. The growing global preference for quality and affordable beauty products has also taken root in the Middle East.
According to Euromonitor International, consumers in the UAE spend US$247 per capita on cosmetics and personal care products, which is more than any other country in the Middle East and ninth worldwide. This spending is forecast to grow to US$294 by 2020, driven by increasing demand from the youth population, more working women and the adoption of Western culture. Lifestyle changes and the growing beauty salon market are also contributing to the proliferation of the industry.
