ALPLA, a global leader in plastic packaging and recycling, has inaugurated two new production plants in Turkey. This strategic move, backed by an investment of approximately €30 million, aims to expand production capacity, enhance supply chain efficiency, and strengthen customer proximity in the region.
The new facilities are located in İzmir and Adana, catering to diverse industries such as beverages, food, dairy, home care, and personal care. The İzmir plant, spanning around 50 000m², serves as a flexible production hub for PET preforms, closures, HDPE, and PET bottles. Meanwhile, the Adana facility, covering 20 000m², focuses on PET preforms and HDPE/PP packaging.
Key features of the new plants
- Modern production technologies: Both sites are equipped with state-of-the-art production and automation technologies.
- Sustainability initiatives: The facilities incorporate photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting to support sustainable operations.
- Improved supply chain: The plants aim to shorten supply routes and improve lead times for customers in western and southern/southeastern Turkey.
Turkey a key growth market for ALPLA
ALPLA has been active in Turkey since 1992 and considers it a vital growth market. The country now accounts for approximately one-third of ALPLA’s capacity in the Africa, Middle East, and Turkey (AMET) region. The new plants further solidify ALPLA’s commitment to the region, ensuring better supply security and customer service.
The official openings, held in mid-September, were attended by senior ALPLA executives and the Austrian Ambassador, highlighting the significance of this milestone.
