As a leading training provider to the FMCG industry, Alec Cameron is introducing a cutting-edge web-based training platform to its existing client base. As training budgets come under pressure, the company is able to offer its popular training courses in a safe and affordable way.
Alec Cameron was established in 1983 as a specialised recruitment company for chemists, analysts, microbiologists and pharmacists. In 1995, its founder, Peter Hannah identified a need in the industry for training. Hannah wanted to provide experience-based training courses to assist companies in short cutting the often steep and expensive learning curve.
Throughout the last 25 years, its traditional GMP, auditing, validation, quality risk management, GEP, GWP and GLP, and laboratory practical courses have set the standard in South Africa.

Next level training
There is a time and place for traditional and virtual classroom methods. However, Alec Cameron has decided to use the current technology available to take its training to the next level. The company has designed micro learning courses, which are hosted on its website. These courses will be available to anyone, at any time and location, as long as they have a device, internet connection and a web browser. The modules are designed to be mobile friendly for learning on the go, giving greater flexibility.

Interactive micro learning
“We wanted to address the challenges we have faced over the years of ensuring our audience is truly engaged. Our new courses include videos, animation, podcasts and other forms of digital content. The training is visually stimulating and point driven. Features like gamification, surveys, quizzes and assessments make it even more interactive,” says Hannah. “Our courses are created in bite-sized chunks, promoting knowledge retention by eliminating the confusion of what’s important and what’s not. Micro learning is ideal for learners with short attention spans and tight schedules.”
The aim of this new offering from Alec Cameron is to provide added value through the purchasing of course bundles and customised user licenses, in order to suit any budget.
