SOFTISAN 649 is a vegan ester and a pure multifunctional ingredient supplied in a pasty form. Safe and widely used, the ingredient provides a smooth and caring sensation for high performance cosmetics. It can be introduced (melted or pasty) into the oil phase before or after homogenisation allowing flexible processing for various formulas.
The chemically inert product shows light odour and colour characteristics. It contributes to the skin barrier effect by lowering trans epidermal water loss.
SOFTISAN 649 has a unique relationship with water. Its complex and unique chemical 3D-structure traps water inside while its water-resistant and water-binding properties result in a strong and highly substantive protecting film. SOFTISAN 649 is also able to thicken oil systems and works in a wide pH range from 4 to 7.
