27 November is the FDA’s deadline for compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act. While this may seem far off in terms of timing, manufacturers and trading partners exporting to the USA are encouraged to act now to be ready in time for the final DSCSA deadline.

Flexible yet robust serialisation and aggregation software is the key point of an intelligent supply chain solution. With the skills and experience of SEA Vision in cutting-edge track and trace software architecture, manufacturers can ensure their compliance with the regulation.

The Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) aims to protect the product and the patient by:

  • enhancing the ability to help and protect consumers from exposure to drugs that may be counterfeit, stolen, contaminated, or otherwise harmful
  • improve detection and removal of potentially dangerous drugs from the pharmaceutical supply chain.

What is required from industry stakeholders

All pharmaceutical stakeholders, including manufacturers and trading partners, such as re-packagers, distributors, wholesalers and dispensers will be required to have a secure interoperable track and trace solution in place to build a complete interoperable electronic system for tracking and identifying prescription drugs on sale in the US.

Hierarchical aggregation will make it possible to accurately identify items in the supply chain and to detect any counterfeit product more easily. Aggregation will also provide a higher level of security and visibility of products within the pharma supply chain, facilitating the exchange of data with trading partners.

Look to SEA Vision for the skills and experience in cutting-edge track and trace software architecture to enable you, as a manufacturer, to be ready for the final DSCSA deadline on 27 November.
