CLR Berlin is introducing its latest innovation, the all-in-one skin refiner, CutiFine CLR at in-cosmetics Global.

CutiFine CLR (INCI: Vaccaria Segetalis (Cowherb) Extract, Adansonia Digitata (Baobab) Pulp Extract), is said to be the first ingredient that addresses all the cell biological processes contributing to skin pores becoming more conspicuous.
Available in South Africa from IMCD, CutiFine CLR is based on a synergistic combination of two potent natural extracts. Vaccaria segetalis has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine while the pulp of baobab fruit, is rooted in centuries of routines in Africa.
Addressing large visible pores
A growing number of consumers are concerned about irregular skin texture and visible pores. Skin with a refined structure and even complexion is a highly sought-after trait, which is not easy to obtain, especially for those with combination or oily skin. As skin ages, the pores become increasingly pronounced. This has resulted in visible pore reduction becoming the latest anti-ageing skin care goal for consumers and brands alike.
There are many reasons why skin pores become more conspicuous. One obvious and patently true reason is their size. But there is yet another important and overlooked feature of pores which makes them more visible. This is the contrast of the colour of the pores and the surrounding skin.
The colour contrast conundrum
With CutiFine CLR, pore size is reduced by its activity on the dermal compartment around the hair follicle, which gives it structural support, keeping pores small. Additionally, pore size is addressed by reducing the hyperproliferation of follicular keratinocytes. This is an important factor in people suffering from oily and combination skin.
Colour contrast between the pore and the surrounding skin is a new and multifaceted challenge. Inflammatory processes can lead to more visible pores. Oxidation of sebum can result in reactive aldehyde compounds which then can interact with superficial keratins leading to browning of the pores. Oily and combination skin can be shiny, which also contributes the situation. Lastly, glycation processes also have an influence on colour contrast.
CLR Berlin’s CutiFine CLR constitutes an all-in-one approach to reduce the conspicuousness of pores. In clinical studies, with the AEVA HE technology, it was shown that the number of detectable pores, their surface area, circumference and volume were clearly reduced. The effectiveness of CutiFine CLR could also be confirmed by the volunteers who took part in the study. After only 28 days, more than 80% of the volunteers reported a reduction of conspicuous pores.
