Beauty and wellness intersect at Coschem conference  

Registration is open for the Coschem 2024 Scientific Conference, taking place in Johannesburg in September.

As consumers adopt a more holistic view of health, they recognise well-being goes beyond surface-level appearances. It is with this wellness theme as a backdrop, that the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (Coschem) 2024 Scientific Conference will explore the elegant intersection of beauty and wellness. The conference takes place on 11 and 12 September at Blueberry Hill Hotel in Honeydew, Gauteng.  

Aptly themed Cosmetic Wellness – The Age of Beauty, the conference features a comprehensive scientific programme with presentations from local and international experts. This high-level knowledge sharing attracts professionals in the cosmetic science arena.  

Educational content to inspire and uplift

Highlights on the conference progamme include technical presentations on active and functional cosmetic ingredients, a regulatory discussion on decoding the African Continental Free Trade Area Treaty from the perspective of cosmetics companies, and a dynamic panel session where industry experts will debate and address a plethora of topics impacting the personal care industry in 2024. These topics include packaging, sustainability, dermocosmetics that blur the line between cosmetics and pharma, the wellness trend, microbiome-friendly claims, the role of AI in R&D, and reef-safe sunscreens.

An insightful interview with Dr Juanita Kilian, founder of DrK Dermal Healthcare, promises to reveal her expertise in innovative research in cosmetic wellness. Complementing the rich educational content, a mini supplier exhibition will run alongside the scientific conference, offering delegates an opportunity to explore the latest products and ingredient innovations in the field.
