Provital launches Shiloxome, the first ingredient introduced using Triplobiome™ technology.

Provital has introduced to market the first ingredient produced using its Triplobiome™ technology. This platform makes use of plant endophytes to produce sustainable ingredients.

In line with consumer demand and Provital’s ‘Do Care’ values, the producer of ingredients has dedicated several years to developing a game-changing range of active ingredients, which can activate skin intelligence via the transfer of nature’s ancient wisdom. The range is made possible by its Triplobiome™ platform, which integrates the power of animal and plant kingdoms, together with their microbiomes, to bring unprecedented symbiotic synergies to the development of new cosmetic ingredients.

Multi-ome skin protection

Shiloxome, a traceable fermented restructuring active with well-ageing benefits, is the result of the isolation of the endophytec yeast from within the bark of the cork oak (Kwoniella mangroviensis). The extract is used to develop a biotechnologically protective solution, which goes beyond barrier care with a comprehensive whole-lipidome analysis.

According to Provital, exposomic research has shown that Shiloxome prevents ROS formation and maintains microbiome diversity. An in vivo lipidomic analysis provides evidence of its reinforcement on the whole lipidome profile, thanks to the ability of Shiloxome to reduce the pollution-induced lipid peroxidation, which prevents lipid chain elongation.

Shiloxome is available in South Africa from Savannah Fine Chemicals, an approved distributor of Provital.
